At a glance
Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has published the Hajj Policy and Plan 2027–2030. This multi-year framework concerns Hajj, not Umrah. Each season’s official announcements still determine applications, allocation, payments and travel requirements. Read the policy linked below and follow current notices rather than assuming the same arrangements apply throughout the four years.
Mandatory online preregistration is separate from allocation and the later government or private scheme application. Begin through the official Ministry portal and keep your registration reference. Registration does not guarantee a place, issue a visa or complete a booking. Check the current instructions for your selected year and any subsequent steps before making a financial commitment.
The government scheme follows the Ministry’s published application and management arrangements. The private scheme uses authorised private operators under the applicable policy. Compare the written services and official eligibility for each route. An operator offering Umrah is not automatically authorised for your Hajj season, and an advertisement is not proof that a place has been allocated.
Travel tips
Ihram is the sacred state entered for pilgrimage, not simply a clothing label. Miqat refers to designated boundaries associated with entering Ihram. Tawaf means circling the Kaaba; Sa’i is the passage between Safa and Marwah. Haram refers to the sacred sanctuary. Rawdah is a designated area in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah with a separate Nusuk appointment process. Ask a qualified guide about worship; this page offers no religious rulings.
TravelOut helps you compare operators whose current licence verification has passed its checks and view available published packages when the service is enabled. Send a package enquiry through the relevant listing and confirm terms with the operator. TravelOut is not the Ministry, does not allocate Hajj places and cannot guarantee visas or appointments.
How to plan
First, complete official registration and save the reference. Next, read the selected season’s application instructions and prepare the documents they require. Confirm that the application route is genuine before submitting documents or making payments. Keep copies of the application, official acknowledgements, agreements and receipts in a secure place.
A valid Pakistani passport is required when applying to a Hajj scheme. The multi-year policy leaves minimum passport validity to the seasonal notification; this guide deliberately does not publish one expiry cutoff for all years. Check the current application instructions, renew in good time and ensure names match across identity, passport and application records.
Ask for named accommodation, room occupancy, meals, transport, assistance and cancellation terms. Clarify how changes, substitutions or unsuccessful visa/allocation outcomes are handled. For a private scheme, verify the operator’s current authorisation with the Ministry. Confirm the payment recipient and retain traceable receipts; do not rely on a verbal assurance.
Discuss walking, standing, heat, mobility support and regular medicines with your household and clinician. Review the Saudi Ministry of Health’s Hajj requirements for your actual season and obtain the required vaccination documentation. Umrah health guidance is not a substitute for the current Hajj list. Arrange rest, support and a meeting plan for anyone who may need assistance.
